rootED in asking the right questions

rootED doesn’t have all the answers but we ask the right questions.   As a consultant and leader working with nonprofits, I am a firm believer in something called Humble Inquiry, described by Edgar H. Schein (2009) in his book Helping as “the fine art of drawing someone out, of asking questions to which you do not already know the answer, of building a relationship based on curiosity and interest in the other person.”

My prayer is that I model this to you, and we model it to each other as we potentially work together.   You will notice that this is the basis for my consulting style.  I do not (nor does any single consultant, leader, professor, board member, manager, director) have all the answers.
